Can we use any mathematical method to win games in casino?

Question by wyeechen: Can we use any mathematical method to win games in casino?
I tried very hard to calculate and predict the next occurance of a random number, and (of course) I failed to get any solution.
But I did heard about some brilliant people using mathematic method to play games in casino and win a lot of money, until the casino black listed them, to not allow them to enter casino. Is this type of story true?

there’s statistical probability, but there’s a fat chance it’ll help.
you need a calculator and a pen and notepad. by the time you finish calculating your probability of winning, they’ve already dealed 10 times. plus, they start watching you closely and you might even get thrown out.
just drink and play.
People count cards. They can count up to like 800 cards sometimes. This allows them to better predict who has what cards so they know what to bet on.
Yes, as the previous posters mentioned, you can card count in Blackjack to actually have an edge over the House. Professional card counters can actually have 2-3% edge in their favor! However, part of the art of card counting is not getting caught. A Blackjack Team from MIT was able to win Millions in Vegas and AC before getting caught. The two sources have further information.
yeah, some college math students wore computers under their clothes in the 70s and won tons of money playing roullette. they did it by measuring how fast the ball was going and then betting on the four most likely places it would land or something…. can’t remember exactly.
casino games can be broken down to a statistical occurance and probability of any one occurance in any one place. In cards using one deck your chances of drawing any one card is 1 in 52 on the first draw and 1 in 51 on the second. Dice are slightly easier to calculate. Slot machines in fact are no longer mechanical and are simply random number generators with a mechanical activator (per Discovery Channel Casino Tech) Yes it is true you can learn the odds and play the statistics on games. And some people have doe so well in that end, that casinos have exersized thier rights to not allow them to game in thier extablishments. The best know were a group of Ivy league students that developed a blackjack method so effetive that the casinos in Atlantic City barred them and thier “employees” from thier grounds.
